CBT program for Chronic comorbid Insomnia patients: A Three Cases Report

Abstract

Chronic insomnia is one of the prevalent diseases, and it¡¯s social/economic losses are very huge. There are already many research reports that CBT¡¯s were proved to be effective treatment program for the patients with the primary insomnia as a type of chronic insomnia. Although there are more higher ratio of comorbid(secondary) insomnia patients in clinical practices, and even CBT was proved to effective for these patients, actually very few researches were conducted for these patients. This research was conducted as a case report for the three chronic comorbid(secondary) insomnia patients who also have other types of sleep disorders. The results showed that there were positive changes in terms of sleep latency, sleep wake time, sleep efficiency, and total sleep time. Especially sleep worries were decreased significantly and quality of life was improved. Finally, the limitations of this report and future directions were suggested.
